The buy was very distressed to receive his purchase in damaged condition. It arrived late and only after he inquired about it. When he opened the package you can see the damage. The seller returned his money and told him to keep the coin. So what happened? Looks like the package was caught in a sorting machine and it bent the coin. I have left off the buyer/seller's names as both are blameless. The images came from the buyer.

I have bought hundreds of coins and received them in the mail. Once a package came empty and the seller made good. This is the only case of damage that I have seen. The encased coin was in a padded envelope. The should have been enought. I have received coins in regular envelopes, #10 envelopes, larger envelopes both padded and not. I have received the wrapped in the invoice. I have received them inside a cardboard piece made to hold them securely. I can tell yoou that my friend has a one of a kind encased.
